How different marketing strategies helped Jason Alvarez-Cohen

As a child growing up in Berkeley, California, Jason Alvarez-Cohen has always wanted to go to school in LA. After graduating and starting his own company with his best friend (Nick Eischens) called Popl, Jason was named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree.

Jason is excited about the future of Popl, especially in this new contactless world we are in. Jason is more motivated than ever and wants to take Popl to the next level. Jason believes Popl is a billion dollar company and he is excited to be working harder than ever, meeting incredible people along the way, and learning new things everyday. One main quote that Jason likes to mention: “You have to enjoy the journey, not just the destination.”

Jason and his co-founder Nick Eischens have always been quite gregarious since college. When they first discovered NFC technology, their first thought was to use it to share information with others so that they could instantly connect with people they met. Jason states that Facebook and Instagram are currently the primary sources of Popl’s marketing, and that their ambassador program has attracted a large number of people interested in working with Popl. According to him, their ambassador program has over 20,000 participants. When a new Popl is purchased with an ambassador’s code, the ambassador receives a 25% commission.
