Monica Lewinsky requested thong-flashing scene to be included impending ‘American Crime Story’ series

Monica Lewinsky said that she mentioned the scandalous scene where she streaked her strap to then-President Bill Clinton be added to the forthcoming series about their issue, “Impeachment: American Crime Story.”

Lewinsky, 48, was a maker on the show, and said the scholars at first forgot about the scene.

“I would’ve loved to have been really selfish and said, ‘That’s great that you guys think we don’t have to show that, fantastic,’ but I’m incredibly experienced in understanding how people see this story,” she disclosed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lewinsky noticed that, just or not, she would have been accused if the scene was excluded. “So, ultimately, I felt two things: One was that I shouldn’t get a pass because I’m a producer,” she told THR. “And two, that it was unfair to the team and to the project because it would leave everybody vulnerable.”

Lead author Sarah Burgess said she left the scene out in light of the fact that she would not like to additionally damage Lewinsky, THR detailed.

“American Crime Story” showrunners originally arranged a Clinton/Lewinsky-based season in 2016, with Lewinsky joining the venture in 2019. Showrunner Ryan Murphy revealed to THR that he wouldn’t have pushed forward without Lewinsky’s endorsement.

Beanie Feldstein will star as Lewinsky, and the two talked continually as creation began and halted all through the COVID-19 pandemic, THR announced. No others, including the Clintons, were counseled on their depiction in the show, which debuts Sept. 7 on FX.
