Sam Darnold tosses for 300 yards, scrambles for 2 TDs as Panthers beat Texans 24-9

Sam Darnold finished 23 of 34 passes for 304 yards and scrambled for two scores as the Carolina Panthers improved to 3-0 with a 24-9 triumph over the Houston Texans on Thursday night.

The Texans saw new kid on the block Davis Mills make his initial beginning at quarterback on brief time frame after Tyrod Taylor harmed his hamstring last Sunday. While the Panthers saw a few players go down with wounds on Thursday night, they were still a lot for the Texans to deal with in Mills’ initial beginning.

Darnold scored on a 5-yard score run in the primary quarter to give the Panthers a 7-0 lead. He would include a 1-yard score a quarterback sneak to take care of the game with four minutes remaining.
