Riley is maturing. And that makes the animated follow-up Inside Out 2 evoke an entirely different range of feelings.
On June 14, the Pixar follow-up to the 2015 picture, which followed Riley as he experienced five personified basic emotions, will hit theatres. The movie will centre on the five initial emotions as they are made to adapt to new emotions.
Tony Hale, who will take Bill Hader’s place as Fear, and Liza Lapira, who will take Mindy Kaling’s role as Disgust, are two of the new voices. In addition, Adeʀle Exarchopoulos will be adding a new character, Ennui, to the roster…
New emotions will be added to the cast of Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Anger (voiced by Lewis Black), Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith), Fear (voiced by Tony Hale), and Disgust (voiced by Liza Lapira). The film is directed by Kelsey Mann, produced by Mark Nielsen, and features a score by Andrea Datzman.
- Maya Hawke plays Anxiety. Anxiety is a ball of jumbled energy that makes sure Riley is ready for anything that could go wrong.
- The character of envy, played by Ayo Edebiri, is unafraid to express her constant jealousy of anything that other people possess.
- Adèle Exarchopoulos portraying ennui is apathetic. Ennui, who is bored and listless and has a perfected eye roll, gives Riley just the right amount of adolescent disinterest when she feels like it.
- Paul Walter Hauser plays embarrassment, a big man with a brilliant blush-pink skin who prefers to be quiet.
In addition, Lilimar plays Valentina “Val” Ortiz, a high school hockey player who is idolised by Riley and her pals, and Kensington Tallman plays Riley Andersen, who is set to start high school.
Riley’s parents, Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan, are back in their respective roles. Riley’s best friends are portrayed by Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green and Grace Lu, and Coach Roberts, the director of a summer hockey camp, is portrayed by Yvette Nicole Brown.
Sarayu Blue, Flea, Ron Funches, Dave Goelz, James Austin Johnson, Bobby Moynihan, Frank Oz, Paula Pell, Paula Poundstone, John Ratzenberger, Kendall Coyne Schofield, June Squibb, Kirk Thatcher, and Yong Yea are among the other voice actors in Inside Out 2.
