An Inexpensive Flagship Phone will Get the Stable Xiaomi HyperOS Update Starting in 2021

A stable HyperOS upgrade for the Redmi K40, which Xiaomi marketed as the Poco F3, was just released. The phone was previously using MIUI, the company’s outdated Android skin. However, the upgrade for the 2021 cheap flagship is based on Android 13, while the company’s other smartphones are receiving the update based on Android 14.

Furthermore, the most recent Android security patch is absent from the upgrade. Instead, the January 2024 security patch is included in the Xiaomi HyperOS update for the Redmi K40 from 2021. It’s still unclear if the business will release the Android 14 upgrade that includes the most recent security patch for the handset.

Despite this, it appears that the Redmi K40 upgrade includes every essential HyperOS functionality. That’s what the changelog suggests, anyway. Comprehensive refactoring is one of them; its goal is to optimize hardware performance and capability.

Xiaomi HyperConnect, a cross-device dynamic networking framework that lets compatible devices provide a connected experience, is also included in the HyperOS release. The security component is also given adequate attention. It supports encrypted data transmission at the hardware level.

Xiaomi HyperOS also boasts a redesigned user interface, improved notification management, and a few additional functions. These are all already included in some of Xiaomi’s most recent releases (such the Poco X6 Pro, which is offered on Amazon), and the Redmi K40 from 2021 currently has them as well.
