Email Summaries Will Soon be Possible with the Android Gmail Client

Google Assistant will soon be replaced by Gemini. Gemini is far more capable than Google Assistant because it is driven by Google’s cutting-edge large language model (LLM) and artificial intelligence (AI). To increase efficiency, it may quickly summarize lengthy emails, for instance.

Email Summary Functionality for Gmail will Soon be Integrated with Gemini

It was obviously obvious that Gemini will be integrated with all of the main Google services. But the Gmail app’s integration’s appearance has now been made public. Assemble Debug, an Android Authority contributor and expert, has shared a screenshot revealing Gmail’s Gemini integration. Google hasn’t made the feature available to the general public yet, but he managed to get it to function. The screenshot below illustrates that the email subject line will have a “Summarize This Email” button beneath it.

Once you click the Summarize This Email option, the bottom of Gemini’s slide-up window will open. It will present a condensed, bulleted version of the email. By selecting whether you like or dislike the outcome, you can provide feedback. You can also click the clipboard icon to copy the email summary. This function ought to be useful for emails containing a lot of text.

Given that this functionality seems to be operating without any issues, Google might be prepared to release it. But before releasing it, the business may hold up until the Google I/O 2024 event. Google will officially reveal Android 15, Android TV/Google TV, ChromeOS, Wear OS 5, and improvements for Chrome, Gemini, and other services at the next event, which is set for May 14, 2024.
