Merry Christmas made approximately ₹ 1.1 crore nett in India on Wednesday, according to a report by Sacnilk.com. Around the Pongal holiday on January 12, Sriram Raghavan’s multilingual film in Tamil and Hindi was released.

According to the report, the movie has made an estimated ₹13.83 crore nett in all domestic theaters thus far. Three language versions of Merry Christmas are showing in theaters: Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.

Merry Christmas debuted in all Indian languages on Friday with a net worth of ₹2.45 crore. In India, the movie brought in ₹3.45 crore nett on Saturday and ₹3.83 crore nett on Sunday, its highest day-wise total. Merry Christmas generated ₹1.65 crore nett in sales in India on Monday across all languages. It continued to hold steady on Tuesday, bringing its total domestic box office receipts to ₹1.3 crore nett.

The movie narrates the tale of how two strangers’ worlds are turned upside down on an ordinary Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas features distinct supporting casts in both Hindi and Tamil versions of the film. In addition to Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in the key roles, the Hindi version stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand. In the Tamil adaptation, Rajesh Williams, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Radhika Sarathkumar play the same parts.

The question of whether director Sriram Raghavan has any ideas for the movie’s sequel was posed to him in a recent interview with India Today. “No, I planned this as a small movie and let it be there only. I think of what will happen but will it be dramatically interesting? Is it worth showing or is it best to be left with the feeling of ‘it’s a Christmas special’ and what you feel is more important and that is something that needs to stay, he replied”
